It will be a busy long weekend in our communities and across the province as we celebrate Canada Day and the start of summer vacation for students.
Canada Day Events in the Southeast:
RocketRez Canada Day Celebration in Steinbach
Flag raising ceremony at Mennonite Heritage Village, wagon rides, tours, kids activities, waffles, rollkuchen and watermelon for sale, hay rack sale and more! Then fireworks at Steinbach Soccer Park with festivities starting at 8 p.m.
Celebration of the Niverville Métis Charrette
The event will feature a Métis fiddler, Métis dances and a short program, ending with buffalo burgers and bannock. FREE ENTRANCE.
Vita Canada Day
This celebration begins with a free pancake breakfast on Friday morning and includes a parade, ball tournament, chainsaw carving and their famous fireworks show.
Canada Day concert at Lac du Bonnet
Dance the night away to the sound of 6 tribute rock bands in support of the Lac du Bonnet arena.
St. Labre 200
While not specifically a “Canada Day” event, this legendary and unique event features teams building go-karts on July 1 and racing them on July 2.

There will be a spectacular fireworks display from CanFire Pyrotechnics, children’s activities, live bands, food trucks and over 100 artisans! 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Great Canada Day Scavenger Hunt in Transcona
The scavenger hunt consists of a number of questions, with answers located in outdoor spaces around the Transcona Business Improvement Area. All participating teams will enter the raffle to win one of 3 summer fun packs.

Canada Day at the Children’s Museum
What better way to celebrate Canada’s birthday than with a homemade sparkler?! Join the Children’s Museum from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. as they create colorful, crafty sparkles that little hands can enjoy over and over again.
Canada Day Super Run
Bring the family and kick off Canada Day with a fun 5k, 3k run or bring the crew and do the family 3k run!
Celebrate Canada Day at Bridgewater Lakes Park
The Winnipeg Chinese Senior Association (WCSA) is hosting Canada Day celebrations that will take place at Bridgwater Lakes Fountain and Park. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Canada Day at the Wetlands Discovery Center
Bring the whole family for an exciting day of all things Canada. Join a guided canoe adventure or rent your own canoe to explore the Marais at your own pace. Paint the Canadian flag or your favorite swamp creature on your hand.
The people of the Red River
Join the folks at St. Andrews Heritage Center and Rectory for a FREE Family Day to explore early life in the Red River Settlement on Canada Day! A bannock station, Maker Market, and children’s games and crafts.

New day at the Forks
The Forks is reimagining its July 1st activities this year in a way that includes a day of reflection, inclusive and fun for everyone to come together. There will be multiple pop-up areas with live performances and activities, over 150 artists and community members, hands-on workshops, and so much to see and do.
Canada Day Paddle
On July 1, Canada Day, participants can sign up for a two-hour excursion that involves night paddling on Lake Winnipeg, after which we will raft to watch the annual fireworks show Canada Day at the Port of Gimli. It’s exciting to walk around in a group as the night sky comes alive with color.
Hunter Brothers Canada Day Outdoor Concert
July 1 at 9:30 p.m. at Killarney Ag Campground. All-day family activities, food trucks, live music featuring Hick Town throughout the day, opening act: Trevor Panczak, Hunter Brothers and fireworks .
