Camp Margaritaville in Pigeon Forge opens new family activities
Camp Margaritaville RV Resort and Lodge in Pigeon Forge will be launching fun activities for the whole family this summer.
The resort opened Fin City, a 20,000 square foot entertainment space with a family game room and an arcade with games like Halo and Space Invaders.
Later this summer, the resort will open a 120-foot-long lazy river and activity lawn with a fire pit and games like giant Jenga.
“RV campers usually stay longer than a hotel, so having multiple things to do is really important to them,” general manager Andy Hime told Knox News. “As we increase our activities, (we want to) entertain children and adults too.”
Once the lazy river opens, the vision for Camp Margaritaville will be complete after the property, which was once home to Boyd’s Bear Country, was taken over about two years ago.

“There are always possibilities of other things to come,” Hime said.
The station opened in phases. The 158-berth RV park was completed in June 2021 and the Boyd’s Bears building was converted into a 79-room lodge which opened in February.
More activities and features will soon be added to Fin City, including bowling, billiards, video game consoles, a merchandise stand, and a snack shack. The Feeding Frenzy Snack Shack will offer take-out food and drinks, including burgers, pizza, popcorn and ice cream. Sodas, beer and frozen concoctions will also be available.
Soon, guests will be able to paint their own ceramics, which will be sent to a kiln and shipped home.
The resort and lodge, located off Parkway on the southern edge of Pigeon Forge, isn’t Margaritaville’s only property in the area. Parrots can also enjoy the Margaritaville Inn in Pigeon Forge, the Margaritaville Resort in Gatlinburg, and the Margaritaville Restaurant at The Island in Pigeon Forge.
“We’re a full-service hotel and full-service RV park, so we can provide a very dynamic environment and experience for guests,” Hime said. “It’s great to see it come to fruition.”
Once everything is complete, according to Hime, about 100 people will work at Camp Margaritaville.
