British Columbia’s campsite reservation system is open and it’s time to plan your summer vacation

If you’re looking to get adventurous this summer, you can start booking your BC campsites on the new reservation system.
The new online reservation system opened on March 21 and campsites are booking quickly. If you want to make sure you get to everything on your summer to-do list, go book British Columbia campsites as soon as possible.
The site, through BC Parks, allows you to filter campsites and save your booking preferences. It lets you book up to two months in advance of your travel dates, so you can really prepare for a summer of fun.
However, some camping reservations open later. You won’t be able to book group campsites until March 24, and reservations for the Bowron Lake Canoe Tour will open in early April.
Before planning your trips, you can check the opening hours of the various campsites in British Columbia on their website. This way you can know exactly which sites you want to book on and for which dates, before logging into the reservation system.
How to book
Once you have your plan together you can visit the BC Parks website and go to the reservations tab.
After creating an account, you can search based on your dates, the provincial park you want to camp in, and the number of tents or vehicles you have.

If you’re not sure where you want to camp, you can explore using the map feature.
Using the map, you can click on the Costal Mainland, Northern BC, Southern Interior or Islands section. From there, you will see the different campsites available for booking in this area.

It’s actually the perfect way to explore if you’ve never camped in British Columbia before. You can see different campsites near you and get a visual if you want something near the ocean or in the mountains.
Once you click on the campground you want, and the specific site, it will add it to your cart.
Then all you have to do is pay the booking fee – which varies between sites but is never very expensive – and you are ready for the camping adventure!
